Elder Law Group Honors ASNP Member as Champion of Disabled

Alongside the headline "Champion for the Disabled," Michigan ASNP advisory board member Patricia E. Kefalas (Patti) Dudek is featured on the cover of the new issue of the NAELA News, a publication of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (Vol. 19, No. 3).

Noting Dudek's "unwavering commitment to the disabled," the feature article says that "she is the first to stand up for what she believes in and will never back down from a fight to improve the lives of her clients." In Michigan, the article notes, "she has paved the way for those with disabilities to control their housing and support services by authoring the Model Contracts for Michigan'™s Self-Determination Initiative. She has also successfully litigated using Olmstead to garner least restrictive housing options for many of her clients. Patti has also established Michigan'™s first Pooled Trust for Medicaid Planning."

The issue also includes a multi-page "Detailed Trust Checklist" authored by Dudek to assure that SNT beneficiaries access all community resources available to them.
