Profile

As Of Counsel at Nikolaisen & Associates, John Nikolaisen practices in the areas of special needs estate planning, guardianship, and disability law. John has been a highly-regarded lawyer in private practice for more than 30 years, half of that time in New York City and half in Boston at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge, LLP, Peabody & Arnold, LLP, and White & Williams, LLP.

John is a passionate advocate for his clients, including people who have family members with special needs. He and his wife have a severely autistic son who is now a young adult, living at home, so he understands how to navigate the system and what parents go through. John has been very active in Special Olympics, founding Wellesley’s Special Olympics track team (part of Wellesley S.T.A.R.S.), is a member of the Adult Services Committee of AFAM (Advocacy for Autism Massachusetts) and is on the board of Camp Starfish, a camp for children with emotional and behavioral issues. He is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

CONTACT JOHN NIKOLAISEN

Tell us about your special needs issue and we will put you in touch with John Nikolaisen

I understand that by contacting a lawyer or a law firm through the Academy of Special Needs Planners, I will not create an attorney-client relationship and the message will not necessarily be treated as privileged or confidential. I also understand that if I contact a non-attorney member of the Academy, whether a financial planner, trustee or other non-attorney, that such contact does not by itself mean that the professional has been retained and that communications with the member may not be treated as privileged or confidential.
