Melanie B. Bradford is the founder and sole practitioner in the law firm of Melanie B. Bradford, LLC. Ms. Bradford practices in the areas of estate planning, estate and gift tax planning, asset protection, Medicaid and nursing home planning, VA benefits, probate, Social Security Disability, special needs trusts/planning, and business and commercial law. Mrs. Bradford earned her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the Samford University, Cumberland School of Law, in Birmingham, Alabama. While in law school, she was a member of the Cumberland Law Review. She was also selected by the faculty of Cumberland School of Law to be a member of Curia Honoris, to which membership is granted only to nominated students that graduate in the top ten percent of the class. Mrs. Bradford is a member of the Alabama State Bar. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar Section of Elder Law (and has served the Section as Secretary, Vice President, President, and on the Board of Directors). She is a member of the American Bar Association, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, American Association of University Women, Kiwanis, and other civic organizations. Mrs. Bradford is licensed to practice law in Alabama, before the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Alabama, before the U.S. Tax Court.
