Don L. Rosenberg is a founding principal of The Center for Special Needs Planning, a division of the law firm of Barron, Rosenberg, Mayoras & Mayoras, P.C. and has been practicing law for over twenty-six years. Don's practice is limited to specializing in issues concerning long term care, nursing home, Medicaid, disability, and estate and special needs planning. Member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is listed in the Academy's Experience Registry since 1991 in the areas of Planning for Disabilities, Estate Planning, Estate and Gift Tax Planning, Decedents (Probate) Estate Administration, Guardian/Conservatorship and Medicaid Planning. Currently officer of the Elder Law and Advocacy Section of the State Bar of Michigan and formerly a Council member (served 7 years). Member of the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer's Association Greater Michigan Chapter. Public Policy Chair of the Alzheimer's Association Greater Michigan Chapter as well as member of the Alzheimer's Association State Public Policy Council. Keynote speaker at WOMC (104.3 FM)'s Be Elder Wise Expo. Guest attorney on Channel 4 (WDIV)'s television show "Due Process." A co-author of a feature article on Special Needs Planning titled, "Solving Your Greatest Worry", published in the United Cerebral Palsy magazine, a national publication. Quoted in the March 6, 2000 of issue of Forbes magazine on page 178 in the article titled, "If It Sounds Too Good..." on the topic of trusts that are too good to be true. Past-President of KESHET, which is a nonprofit organization that serves families who have children of any age with disabilities of any kind and a past Member of the Board of Directors of KADIMA, which is a nonprofit organization that serves families and individuals with mental illnesses. Don is a frequent lecturer and is a twelve year member of the Professional Speaker's Bureau of the Alzheimer's Association Greater Michigan Chapter. He has spoken before many groups including Michigan Institute of Continuing Legal Education (Medicaid Update), Wayne State University, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Macomb County Intermediate School District, Special Olympics, Michigan Association of School Administrators, Macomb County Life Underwriters, and numerous public seminars given in conjunction with colleges, senior centers, stock brokerage firms, accounting firms, financial planners and life insurance agencies.
