For over 30 years, Sharon J. Ritter Beall has concentrated her law practice in the areas of estate and trust planning, wills, trusts, estate and trust administration, special needs trust planning, as well as in matters pertaining to guardianship, and real estate and taxation related to her estate and trust practice. She is admitted to practice in Illinois (not active) and in Maryland and she is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Estates and Trusts and the Elder Law and Disability Rights Sections of the Maryland Bar Association. Ms. Ritter Beall has been actively involved in the Maryland Bar Association by serving for many years on the Estates and Trusts Section Council (Chair 2011-2012), the section of the bar that advances educational programs for practitioners, and legislation that affects the estates and trusts practice in Maryland; and serving on a committee consisting of practitioners, Register of Wills and Orphans’ Court judges that promotes consistency of practice around the state. In addition, she is a member of the Guardianship Workgroup operating under the auspices of the Maryland Judicial Council to revise the guardianship rules in Maryland and ensure best practices. Ms. Ritter Beall is a member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners and is President of the Board of First Maryland Disability Trust, a pooled special needs trust. Ms. Ritter Beall received her undergraduate degree from Kenyon College, her law degree from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Baltimore. Although she has practiced all over the state, as a recent transplant to Annapolis from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Ms. Ritter Beall is happy to be able to grow her practice from the Chesapeake Bay to the Ocean with John Robbert.
