My name is Kristin Carleton and I joined James River Wealth Advisors as a partner and senior financial planner engaging clients with planning solutions that work to fulfill their personal and business goals.

I have 15+ years of experience in the financial services industry, and extensive experience working with a broad range of financial products. I pride myself in applying my knowledge of financial products to help clients achieve their dreams – from buying their first home, to sending their children to college, to retiring with dignity.

My professional experience includes a wide range of progressive positions with Towne Investment Group of Towne Bank, a division of Raymond James Financial Services, Transamerica Capital, Universal Investments and WisdomTree Asset Management. I graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and hold Series 7, 63 and 66 registrations.

I also serve on the Board of Directors of Gateway Homes and the Duke Alumni Association and on the Associate Board of the Children’s Museum of Richmond. I am a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Richmond and serve on the Stewardship Committee and choir at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

My spouse, Dr. David Carleton, and I, are proud parents of our daughter, Anna, and son, Eli. My passions include spending time with my kids, serving in my community, reading books, and running.
