Mitchell works closely with clients to address their financial concerns and help them achieve their financial goals, and he regularly reviews investment selections for their continued suitability. He also collaborates with tax advisors, attorneys, estate planners, and other financial professionals to help ensure that all of his clients’ financial needs are met.
Mitchell has been working in the financial service industry since 1998. He formed MJT & Associates in 2000. Mitchell earned his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation in 2006, his Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ (CDFA®) designation in 2018, and his Chartered Special Needs Consultant® (ChSNC®) designation in 2020. He is an active member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFP), Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA™), Collaborative Law Institute, and Twin Cities Estate Planning Council.
Mitchell’s commitment to the community includes volunteering for the SFP Pro Bono planning alliance with the MS Society, the Autism Society of Minnesota, and he is a proud supporter of Westonka School and Community activities.
Mitchell grew up in southwestern Minnesota in the small farming community of Renville. He obtained his B.A. in 2000 from Jamestown College with a concentration in economics and personal financial services. Away from the office, Mitchell enjoys his family, traveling, spending time outdoors, working in his woodshop, and visiting his cabin with family and friends. Mitchell and his wife along with their four children, reside in the community of Minnetrista, where they enjoy all of the area’s activities.
