Profile

Eric Goldberg, CELA, formerly the founder and principal attorney at the NJ Elder Law Center at Goldberg Law Group (NJELC) is now co-chair of NJELC at Mandelbaum Salsburg. He is dedicated to working with his clients on a personal level and providing them with customized plans that meet their unique needs and goals for long term care and estate planning.  Over the years, Eric has learned that the best plans are the result of close collaboration, not only with his clients, but also with other professionals involved in caring for the needs of seniors, special needs adults and children, and veterans. His clients appreciate this approach and consider Eric both a counselor for life and a family friend.

Eric is proud to be a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA), a designation awarded to only a small percentage of elder law attorneys.  To achieve this award, one must be favorably evaluated by his peers, pass a rigorous exam, and rise to a level of sophistication and experience in elder law to be recognized by the board of the National Elder Law Foundation.

Eric is co-chair of the Elder Law Section of the Essex County Bar Association, a member of Elder Counsel, the NJ State Bar Association, the Financial Planning Association of New Jersey, the Healthcare Association of New Jersey, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, the National Elder Law Foundation and the Institute of Gerontology Advisory Board. In order to understand the challenges of those living with a cognitive impairment, Eric is also licensed as a Certified Dementia Practitioner.

I understand that by contacting a lawyer or a law firm through the Academy of Special Needs Planners, I will not create an attorney-client relationship and the message will not necessarily be treated as privileged or confidential. I also understand that if I contact a non-attorney member of the Academy, whether a financial planner, trustee or other non-attorney, that such contact does not by itself mean that the professional has been retained and that communications with the member may not be treated as privileged or confidential.
