Cara Crownover is an associate attorney at TLD Law, LLP. Her practice includes estate planning, special needs trusts, corporate and business law, real estate law, commercial leases, and general civil litigation. Cara Crownover is proud to be a Southern California native.

Before joining TLD Law in 2014, Ms. Crownover graduated cum laude from Columbia University in New York in 2010 majoring in English and Comparative Literature. She maintained a GPA that afforded her the distinction of being on the Dean’s List every semester at Columbia.  While there, Ms. Crownover was invited to participate in an intensive independent study with world-renowned medievalist and Chaucer scholar, Paul H. Strohm.

Following Columbia, Ms. Crownover returned to her home state to attend Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Her focus was in Corporate Law and International Law, and she achieved Highest Honors for her Business Planning course. During law school, Ms. Crownover participated in the International Law Moot Court Competition, where she and her partner won second place in the final round.

Also while in law school, Ms. Crownover interned for her Second Year (2L) summer in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Los Angeles, and was invited back as an extern for an additional semester. While at the SEC, Ms. Crownover was exposed to a variety of cases involving securities fraud including insider trading, pyramid and Ponzi schemes, broker embezzlement, and hedge fund fraud. Ms. Crownover gained experience in highly complex matters by assisting with all components of pre-litigation work, including detailed document review, discovery review and deposition preparation.

She graduated from Loyola with Honors in the International Law Concentration.

Since joining TLD Law, Ms. Crownover has carried on the skills that she learned at the SEC and has worked in the corporate transactional and civil litigation departments, placing her in a unique position to support the firm’s clients across multiple platforms in various settings.

Ms. Crownover continues her legal involvement outside of the office as a board member of Women Lawyers of Long Beach where she served as Secretary from 2016–2017.  She is serving as the President of the Women Lawyers of Long Beach for the 2017–2018 term.
