Molly Shirer is Counsel at Parlatore Law Group and focuses her practice on special needs estate planning in the areas of guardianships, conservatorships, special needs trusts planning, special education law and Social Security/Disability claims.
The mother of a developmentally disabled young adult, Ms. Shirer has spent her life advocating for his educational and legal needs and feels passionately about focusing her practice on serving this community. Special needs children and young adults require careful planning and advocacy at every stage of their lives. Ms. Shirer’s life experiences and professional skill set gives her a unique perspective and makes her an asset to Parlatore Law Group in best serving our clients and working with the special-needs community.
Prior to joining Parlatore Law Group, Ms. Shirer was employed as the Executive Vice President of Coronado Blue Corporation, as well as corporate in-house counsel, where she regularly advised the owner on day-to day and legal issues, with emphasis on employee relations and corporate governance.
In addition to providing estate planning and business counsel, Ms. Shirer volunteers her time with the Military Spouse J.D. network as a pro bono committee member, and as a Volunteer Attorney in the Guardianship Clinic at the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer program. To date, she has assisted many clinic clients with their guardianship petitions and represented several others at their hearings in San Diego.
She is active in the San Diego County Bar Association, the Probate Attorneys of San Diego, the California Lawyer’s Association, Trusts and Estates Section, and the Lawyer’s Club of San Diego.
She is fully bilingual in French.
She is admitted to practice in California, the U.S. District Court- Southern District of California and the U.S. District Court- Central District of California. In 2019, Molly received the California Lawyer Association’s Wiley W. Manuel Award for pro bono legal services through the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program.
She currently lives in Coronado, California, with her husband and son.
