Executive Director Joan McGrath Coulter has more than 25 years’ experience in professional accounting and finance and celebrates her twelfth anniversary with PLAN this year. Prior to assuming the role of PLAN’s Executive Director, Joan’s responsibilities included PLAN’s operations, trust administration and finance. She has been an Auditor with a “Big Four” public accounting firm, where she focused on high growth, emerging business clients; and has led her own private consulting practice, where she worked with nonprofits, service organizations, and venture capital startups. Joan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Boston University School of Management.
PLAN of MA and RI serves individuals with mental health, developmental, and physical disabilities of all ages in Massachusetts and Rhode Island communities. We offer trusts that can be funded by individuals for themselves, called first party trusts, and trusts that can be funded by others for an individual with special needs, called third-party trusts.
As a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization we are able to provide pooled special needs trusts that offer relief from high bank and trust company account minimums along with comprehensive services.
